Chi-Town
Are you cold yet? We are here in Chicago once again. We are in almost the same exact room we were in 2 years ago in our hotel. It is surreal, feels a bit like an acid flashback, not that I really know about that. Anyhoo, the plans are set for all of our favorite…

Frozen, Part 2
Our last day in Chicago was a blustery 14 degrees. We woke up at 9:00am and checked the weather…feels like 0 degrees. So we went back to sleep for an hour. When we finally did step outside, the wind caught my breath. Merc uttered his now famous line, “It’s not that bad.” But before we…

Frozen, Part 1
The last few days of our Chicago trip were the coldest I have ever experienced. I know that a lot of people live in freezing places and think nothing of it, but I am from California…and now that I am from Southern California, I am an even bigger weenie when it comes to the cold.…

Food, Glorious Food!
We have been eating wonderfully well on this trip…yum! We hit Brazazz again and it was amazing as I had remembered. Then we tried out a Spanish Tapas restaurant called Emelio’s, it was also quite good, and our friendly waiter dropped off two sherries for us at the end of meal. We also ate a…

The City in the Window
One of the really cool things about staying in these high rise hotels in Chicago is the view out the window at night. We leave the curtains open all night and I fall asleep looking at an amazing view of the city. It is the best night-light.

Navy Pier
Well, the one thing I wanted to do last year that I didn’t get to do was go to Navy Pier. Once I realized how close it was, I bundled up to visit in person a place I have seen on TV for years. So in 30 degree weather, I walked about 2.5 miles to…
