Where to Eat in Chicago

Well, we spent the past week in Chicago and I finally got to see snow in the city! It was very cool…and cold! A nice change of pace. Chicago is a beautiful city, but as always it is good to be home again.

We had some pretty good food while there. I highly recommend the Chicago Chop House. Pricey, but excellent. We also had deep dish pizza at Geno’s East, which I was told was THE place to get Chicago style pizza. Betty, a random elderly woman gave me this prized advice. She sat down at my table while I was eating lunch and we chatted for more than an hour. We also ate at Mike Ditka’s restaurant which was fair, but nothing special in my opinion. We, of course, had Chicago dogs and Italian beef sandwiches at Portillo’s. We stuffed ourselves at Brazzaz Brazillian Steakhouse, AMAZINGLY good! For a snack, I enjoyed a bag of Garrett’s Popcorn, the Chicago Mix, which is carmel corn and cheese corn…different, but yummy. And the best hot cocoa I have ever had came from Ethel’s Chocolate, it was absolutely decadent.
