This post has been a long time coming, but for my birthday, we decided to dispense with the traditional cake in favor of a trip to our local Sprinkles Cupcakes shop. So after a day at the spa, I picked up Manda and we were off to get some tiny, heavenly cakes. After taking the wrong freeway and getting lost twice, we finally made it to the little shop just 10 minutes before closing. The line out the door hinted that the fare was well worth the navigational mishaps we had endured.
So we picked up a dozen cupcakes in various flavors. The stand out favorite being the Red Velvet cupcake, with thick cream cheese frosting…oh yeah. 2nd place was the Strawberry, which tasted like actual fresh strawberries, no pink food coloring or Jolly Rancher, fake flavor here. 3rd was Peanut Butter Cup…I think it’s self explanitory. Everything else tied from there, the Chocolate was memorable and rich, Vanilla was simple but solid.
A word to the wise: these little puppies are delectable, but very rich. So cut them in quarters and start there.
